The thermostatic mixer is essential for saving water and energy and is made with brass that complies with European standards for drinking water.
Its use is required by the law on energy saving which limits the distribution temperature of domestic hot water to 48°C.
The use of the thermostatic mixer is also considered indispensable for the prevention of "legionella pneumophila".
In systems with domestic hot water storage, to avoid the risk of developing this dangerous bacteria, the temperature in the storage tank must never fall below 60°/65°C. Water at this temperature cannot be used directly and therefore the installation of a thermostatic mixer is essential to reduce and keep the temperature of the water distributed to the taps constant.
